Riverside Bank of the Gulf Coast opened for business December 15, 1997 at 521 Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral. Riverside Bank is the result of a joint effort between our founder, Vernon Smith and local community leaders, to start a community bank based in Cape Coral, which would ultimately grow to serve Southwest Florida. Vernon, a very successful community banker and the founder of Riverside National Bank in Fort Pierce, felt strongly that in order for a community bank to truly meet the needs of the community it serves, it should have local ownership and local board of directors.

The key ingredient to Riverside’s incredible growth and achievement is in our dedicated employees and their belief in providing outstanding customer service. By maintaining our focus on serving the customer, we will enjoy continued success as we seek to expand our bank, within our markets, to wherever hometown banking is needed. Our employees strive to “make a difference” in the lives of our customers and in our community by reaching out through our C.O.R.E (Community Outreach of Riverside Employees) program.
